Peter Johnson is a bankruptcy attorney with over 44 years of experience representing consumers, small business enterprises, creditors and bankruptcy trustees, primarily in the Federal Bankruptcy Courts in Houston, Texas and the surrounding area. He served as a bankruptcy trustee for over twenty years and has encountered most issues that can arise in a bankruptcy case. Johnson is currently retired from active practice and primarily advises other practitioners on bankruptcy matters regarding their clients.

Trustee Practice:

Served as a member of the private panel of bankruptcy trustees appointed by the Administrative Office of the United States Courts from 1979 through 1999.

Since 1979 have served as Trustee on more than 5,000 cases including both Chapter 7 liquidation proceedings as well as operating and liquidating Chapter 11 cases. Have additionally served as a liquidating Trustee named under several confirmed liquidating plans of reorganization during the past twenty-five years.

Most Significant Trustee Appointment was the appointment as the Chapter 11 Trustee for the Estate of J.R. McConnell, Jr. which required the operation, disposition or liquidation of over 300 parcels of real property with a cumulative value in excess of $200 million dollars.

Expert Testimony as Trustee for several litigation cases including serving as the testifying expert for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in the Chapter 11 litigation on First RepublicBank Corp including the analysis and preparation of liquidation models in conjunction with tax professionals.

Mediation Practice:

Served as bankruptcy court appointed mediator on numerous cases since 1992, primarily involving specialized issues of bankruptcy law.
